Ferrari 458 Italia Grand Am was given its single track at Fiorano circuit. The car has been developed in collaboration with Michelotto Automobili, based on the GT3 version of the Ferrari V8 berlinetta, with the goal of career in the famous series in North America.
The Grand Am 458 is built to match the U.S. regulations and is therefore different from the European car, especially as it develops 500 horsepower and aerodynamics less effective than the GT version. It also has a butterfly of 48 mm and a maximum speed of 8000th Significant changes have been made in the brake when the car has no ABS or traction control.
Other differences compared to the GT3 include the canopy, which provides most protection to improve safety in a series, where collisions are a little more often. The car is equipped with Continental tires, the only supplier to the series, featuring a very hard substance, again to meet the rules set.
The shakedown, 458 Italian Grand Am already a good number of laps without any problems, 45 in particular, in the hands of Maurizio Mediani and Jaime Melo, as it took turns at the wheel.
